Our degree program in German and Serbo-Croatian provides exceptional opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from an extensive array of modules across their first, second, and final years, including language courses in their selected languages alongside related cultural studies. Additionally, learners may enroll in interdisciplinary modules from the School of European Languages, Culture and Society (SELCS) and SSEES, exploring diverse fields such as literature, cinema, linguistics, and history.
The third year involves studying abroad in two countries where the chosen languages are spoken. Students attain equivalent language proficiency regardless of whether they begin as beginners or with prior knowledge. The curriculum encompasses various cultural aspects like literary traditions, linguistic history, social sciences, philosophy, visual arts, cinema, and other cultural elements connected to the languages being studied.
