Our degree program in French and Yiddish provides exceptional opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from an extensive array of courses covering literature, linguistic studies, history, sociology, philosophy, visual arts, cinema, and various cultural aspects tied to the languages they'll master. French language instruction occurs at UCL's School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS), while Yiddish courses are offered by UCL's Hebrew & Jewish Studies department.
During your first, second, and final academic years, you'll enroll in language courses along with complementary studies in literature, culture, historical contexts, and linguistic analysis related to your chosen languages.
