Our combined Czech and French program provides exceptional opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from diverse course offerings spanning literature, linguistic studies, history, sociology, philosophy, visual arts, cinema, and various cultural aspects tied to their language studies.
The third academic year involves international study, divided between two nations where your selected languages are native. This immersive experience not only enriches your understanding of the languages and cultures but also enhances your adaptability and independence. Typically, students spend this year at partner universities, though other options like professional internships may be available. During years one, two, and four, you'll undertake language courses in your chosen tongues alongside cultural studies modules. Additionally, you can enroll in interdisciplinary courses from SELCS, exploring connections between literature, cinema, language science, and historical studies.
Your third year abroad will be equally divided between two countries where your target languages are spoken. Whether beginning a new language or building on existing skills, all students attain equivalent language proficiency by graduation.
