This adaptable four-year program provides three distinct pathways to specialize in one or multiple ancient languages, including Ancient Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, Hittite, Akkadian, or Sumerian. Alongside language studies, students can explore the ancient world comprehensively while delving into specialized areas of ancient literature, philosophy, history, and archaeology. Identical to the BA Classics and the Ancient World degree, this program features an additional year abroad. Students spend their third year at a partner university in countries such as France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Spain, or Switzerland. This international experience enhances academic knowledge, develops new skills, and immerses students in another culture.
The program emphasizes ancient languages and literature while examining the ancient world through diverse chronological, geographical, and methodological perspectives. Students will refine their analytical skills and articulate their insights through module essays and a final-year dissertation.
