This BA (Hons) Teaching of Musical Theatre (TMT) program is taught by seasoned professionals in both musical theatre performance and specialized performance instruction. Students will receive training in musical theatre dance, vocal performance, and stage acting. From the first year, you can tailor your studies to emphasize your strongest areas while building practical teaching skills in either vocal or dance instruction.
Performance opportunities include everything from full-scale musical productions complete with orchestra, sets, and costumes to intimate plays, ensemble works, and dance showcases. During your second and third years, you'll have chances to audition for productions at the Alexandra Theatre, other regional venues, and our campus performance spaces.
The curriculum covers diverse subjects with an emphasis on teaching methodologies, while also offering opportunities to gain experience in technical theatre and arts management by assisting with production projects.
