This Joint Honours program brings together two major performing arts disciplines, Drama and Music, within a vibrant creative community.

Opting to study Drama at Royal Holloway places you in one of the world's most prominent Drama and Theatre departments. You'll engage in performance creation, text analysis, and apply critical perspectives to both. This program seamlessly integrates theory and practice - written works and physical expression, intellectual exploration and hands-on experience complement each other. Theoretical understanding enhances your practical work, while practical experience illuminates theoretical concepts. Through this dynamic interplay, you'll develop as a well-rounded theatre practitioner. By exploring diverse performance approaches, both individually and collaboratively, you'll gain comprehensive industry knowledge and discover how your unique talents contribute to the wider field.

Qualification Requirements

A Levels: AAB-ABB
Required subjects:

A-level grade or pass in grade 7 Music Theory
Applicants without A-level Music or pass in grade 7 Music Theory may be eligible for the Intensive Theory entry. This requires Music GCSE grade A/7 or equivalent, plus performance at ABRSM Grade 7 level. In term 1 you will be required to take Fundamentals of Music Theory, an intensive music literacy course.
Students wishing to take Solo Performance options will need to be of Grade 8 ABRSM level, or equivalent, on the selected instrument at point of entry.
At least five GCSEs at grade A*-C or 9-4 including English and Maths.

IB - 6,5,5 at Higher Level including Music at Higher Level or Grade 7 Music Theory with a minimum of 32 points overall plus Grade 7 in performance.

The scores we require
IELTS: 6.5 overall. Writing 7.0. No other subscore lower than 5.5.
TOEFL iBT: 88 overall, with Reading 18 Listening 17 Speaking 20 Writing 26.
Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English (ISE): ISE III.
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) grade C.
