During your BA (Hons) Fine Art with Textiles degree, you'll receive guidance to investigate textiles as an artistic medium while engaging with conventional fine art methods. Our technical workshops will help you produce exceptional artwork while specializing in textile-based creations.
This program covers diverse skills and methods, allowing you to cultivate professional expertise across various production techniques. Through workshops, you'll learn weaving, stitching, embroidery, felting, dyeing, knitting, and receive instruction in processes like pattern cutting.
You'll examine textiles' modern evolution into a medium with spatial and three-dimensional applications. You'll experiment with aspects of other 2D and 3D practices, including surface treatment, color work, collage, flat compositions, and sculptural methods (structural textiles, 3D hangings, mixed media). Textile studies integrate with fine art investigation and intersect with sculpture, painting, printmaking, and installation art.
