The MRes in Arts and Media is an interdisciplinary postgraduate research program within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. This degree provides a dynamic platform to conduct research across art and design, performing arts, and media disciplines, allowing students to choose between practice-based projects or conventional text-based methodologies.
Your academic journey starts with two foundational modules focused on research design and methodologies, which you'll later apply to an in-depth research project aligned with your artistic and media passions.
This program actively supports your research ambitions by pairing you with faculty members who share your interests and can mentor your investigative work. It serves as excellent preparation for advanced postgraduate studies at the MPhil or PhD level.
Instruction is delivered through a mix of seminars, one-on-one tutorials, and intensive supervision of both written and creative outputs.
Students also have the flexibility to pursue this program through online distance learning, with continuous supervisory assistance, guidance, and access to digital lecture materials.
