Our BA Modern Languages program is tailored to help you enhance your multilingual abilities, dive deep into the rich cultures of language-speaking regions, embark on an international experience, and unlock opportunities for a global career. If you're passionate about languages and eager to explore the world while becoming a true global citizen, our four-year program promises a stimulating and enriching academic journey. You'll gain priceless experiences connecting with people from varied cultural backgrounds through collaborations with our exchange partners and the International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP)—a network spanning more than 300 universities worldwide—giving you access to destinations across the globe, including a full year abroad in your third year. Recent students, for instance, have studied in diverse locations from Costa Rica and Mexico to Taiwan and Québec. This program provides a distinctive chance to refine your language and communication abilities while gaining profound insights into the history, philosophy, identity, and culture of the regions tied to your chosen languages. You'll explore societal norms, traditions, cuisine, music, dance, sustainability, and much more, while examining the intricate connections between global languages and civilizations. Through studying different political landscapes, encountering diverse viewpoints, and analyzing how pivotal historical events shape contemporary global discussions, you'll develop a well-rounded perspective on the world.
UCAS points - 112 points - Whether you study a single, double or triple language option, an A Level or equivalent qualification in your main language/s is required. An A Level or equivalent qualification is not required for the Subsidiary or Beginner level languages. GCE A Level - Typical offer – BCC-BBC including your main language. BTEC - Considered alongside an A level in your main language. International Baccalaureate - 26 points, to include 5 in a HL language.
