The Department of Population Health Sciences operates within Bristol Medical School. Our faculty engages in wide-ranging national and global research partnerships while offering health policy guidance to governmental agencies and international organizations. Both staff and students belong to the university-wide Bristol Population Health Science Institute.

This multidisciplinary department brings together experts across numerous fields including statistics, epidemiology, genetics, sociology, psychology, anthropology, health economics, public health medicine, medical ethics, data science, neuroscience, and community healthcare professionals. We actively seek postgraduate research candidates from all these diverse academic backgrounds.

Qualification Requirements

An upper second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) or a lower second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) with a master's degree in a subject relevant for the proposed research. For an MD you must hold an MBChB.
Applicants must have identified two potential supervisors who are willing to support the research proposal.
Ielts - 7.0 overall with 6.5 in all skills
Toefl ibt - 95 overall with R22, L21, S23, W22.
