The Philosophy Department is renowned for its exceptional research output spanning diverse philosophical fields. Our department stands out for its expertise in logic, philosophy of science and mathematics, along with significant contributions to ethics, formal epistemology, scientific metaphysics, phenomenology, and medical philosophy.
We offer a vibrant schedule of seminars, colloquia, and conferences, featuring specialized sessions on the philosophy and history of science, medicine, mathematics, and logic. Our weekly departmental seminars bring distinguished guest speakers, complemented by various reading groups and interdisciplinary collaborations with Physics, Mathematics, Politics, English, History, and Medicine departments. Additionally, we house the Centre for Science and Philosophy, fostering cross-disciplinary approaches to scientific interpretation.
