We invite applications from exceptional graduates eager to join the next wave of interdisciplinary cardiovascular researchers. Participants in this program enjoy a dynamic, collaborative atmosphere along with state-of-the-art cross-disciplinary training.
Selected candidates will undertake a 13-year PhD program, with the initial year offering distinctive opportunities to establish a strong grounding in cardiovascular research across multiple fields. This foundational year features two four-month research rotations designed to provide comprehensive hands-on experience in areas supporting your subsequent three-year primary research.
Your final three-year research focus will be determined during the admissions process, ensuring clarity about your project trajectory from day one. Sample project topics can be found on the Faculty of Life Sciences website.
All PhD research will span multiple disciplines, involving at least two principal investigators from different fields. The program also provides supplementary research and professional skills development, plus competitive funding for conference attendance and specialized workshops.
