The MSci Physiological Science program centers around an extensive research project, offering students a comprehensive grasp of designing and executing experimental studies within a specialized field. This program delivers hands-on experience of a researcher's daily work while cultivating essential skills for pursuing a research career.
The initial three years mirror the BSc Physiological Science curriculum. In years one and two, students explore how major bodily systems collaborate to sustain health. Alongside physiology, students can study related disciplines like pharmacology, anatomy, and psychology, expanding their biomedical science knowledge.
By year three, students engage with groundbreaking research in areas such as neurological/psychiatric conditions and cardiovascular health, taught by globally renowned experts.
The fourth year primarily involves an intensive laboratory research project. Students simultaneously hone skills in science communication through public engagement initiatives and learn collaborative problem-solving techniques for scientific challenges.
This culminating year develops crucial research planning and execution competencies, valuable for both professional careers and potential PhD studies.
MSci Physiological Science graduates possess ideal qualifications for research careers and transferable skills applicable to diverse fields including education, healthcare, and management.
