Our Biomedicine program is structured to help you cultivate and utilize your expertise in medical biological sciences. This interdisciplinary course integrates key aspects of biology and chemistry that are crucial to contemporary healthcare.

These include our state-of-the-art £34 million STEM teaching labs, the Biomedical Research Centre, the Bob Champion Research and Education Building, and the on-campus Norwich Medical School. These cutting-edge resources feature a specialized bio-bank for DNA and tissue preservation, plus pioneering research in cancer, antibiotic resistance, and musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal disorders.

As you advance through the program, you can focus your studies through specialized modules. Current popular choices cover Cancer Biology, Cellular Processes and Disease Mechanisms, Infectious Diseases and Immune Responses, Health and Evolutionary Biology, Developmental Biology and Stem Cells, Medical Enzymology, and Genomic Science. Your final year includes an extensive research project guided by biomedical research specialists.

A Levels
AAB including Biology or Human Biology and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Computing Science, Psychology or Mathematics. A-Level General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. Where applicable Science A Levels awarded by an English Exam board require a pass in the practical element. If you are taking an EPQ and three A-levels, we may offer you a one grade reduction on our advertised typical offer alongside an A in the EPQ.
T Levels
Obtain an overall Pass including an A in the core of the T Level and a Distinction in the Occupational Specialism. Acceptable subjects are: Science.
BTEC
DDD in Applied Science or Applied Science (Medical Science). Excludes Public Services, Uniformed Services, Forensic Science and Business Administration. See below for accepted subjects and combinations.

GCSE
You are required to have Mathematics at a minimum of Grade B / 5 and English Language at a minimum of Grade C / 4 or above at GCSE.

English Foreign Language
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. We require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading):
IELTS: 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components)
TOEFL IBT - 79 (Reading 18,Writing 17 , Listening 17, Speaking 20).
Pearson Academic English - 64 overall with minimum of 59 in each component.
