This program showcases the specialized knowledge of our School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies in research methodology education. It offers complete instruction in all stages of research development, from initial concept to practical implementation.

Ideal for aspiring social science researchers or those pursuing doctoral studies, including ESRC-funded PhD programs, this curriculum aligns with ESRC training guidelines and holds accreditation as a research training program.

Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with various qualitative and quantitative data gathering techniques used in social sciences, along with key data analysis approaches. An upper second-class honours degree or international equivalent in any discipline. Applicants must have evidence of at least 1 quantitative and 1 qualitative module/unit at 2:1 or equivalent. Qualitative Research, Survey, Behavioural Studies/Research, Social Research, Comparative Politics/Research.
