Bristol boasts a distinguished standing in politics and international relations education and research, providing a stimulating academic journey with thought-provoking challenges.

You'll explore both national political systems and the complex interactions between states, societies, and individuals.

The foundational year features four mandatory units to establish core knowledge, with increasing flexibility in subsequent years. The program culminates in an extensive selection of specialized courses reflecting faculty expertise, covering areas like political theory, international affairs, economic policy, British and American government, gender studies, and war/peace studies.

Research methodology is prioritized, beginning with a required first-year course and culminating in a final-year thesis project. This capstone allows students to pursue independent political research under guidance, focusing on a self-selected topic.
