This program offers comprehensive physics training with a strong emphasis on astrophysics. Guided by a world-class astrophysics research team, the curriculum explores diverse modern astrophysical subjects.
During your first two years, you'll study fundamental astrophysics and cosmology principles while completing the same core physics curriculum as our standard Physics programs. The third year delves into specialized areas like galactic studies and high-energy astrophysics. Your capstone project will be supervised by an astrophysics research group member, with potential focus areas including:
astrophysics of galaxy clusters
evolutionary processes in galaxies
black hole dynamics and active galactic nuclei
formation and atmospheric characteristics of exoplanets.
Throughout the program, you'll cultivate essential physicist competencies including analytical reasoning, mathematical proficiency, collaborative abilities, and effective communication of complex ideas.
The course also develops practical astronomical observation techniques and theoretical modeling skills applicable to data interpretation from major international observatories, both terrestrial and space-based.
Become part of our welcoming academic community with its vibrant, recognized student organization. Our physics alumni enjoy outstanding career prospects, demonstrating the high regard employers have for the capabilities developed through this program.
