Our intellectually stimulating three-year BA Liberal Arts program offers a unique opportunity to delve into arts and humanities while developing essential analytical and communication skills that will benefit you during your studies and throughout your career.
This program blends focused study in one discipline (your chosen 'pathway') with exposure to diverse subjects across the Faculty of Arts. This dual approach fosters creative thinking and equips you with a versatile skill set.
During your first two years, at least 25% of your coursework will focus on your selected pathway. You'll also take specially designed core units examining fundamental and interdisciplinary topics in arts and humanities, covering areas like writing techniques, historical perspectives, and philosophical concepts of nature and beauty. Language study and data analysis skills are also included, along with elective courses from various arts and humanities fields.
In your final year, you'll complete an interdisciplinary dissertation, finish your pathway requirements, and participate in our capstone experience. This culminating unit highlights the professional applications of your degree, promotes global citizenship, and may involve collaborations with external organizations.
For students considering modern languages, we recommend the four-year MLibArts program, which includes a year abroad to enhance language proficiency and cultural understanding. The three-year option with a languages pathway remains available for those unable to study overseas.
Note: English, History, and Music pathways require A-level (or equivalent) qualifications in those subjects. For English, this must be English Literature or combined English Language and Literature.
Language pathways require A-level (or equivalent) qualifications in either ancient or modern languages.
