Nuclear medicine encompasses all diagnostic, therapeutic, and research applications of radioactive materials, excluding sealed radiation sources in radiotherapy (as defined by WHO).

This critical healthcare specialty spans all medical fields across every age group, from newborns to elderly patients, playing a vital role in managing numerous conditions including cancer, heart disease, infections, inflammation, and neurological disorders.

In the UK, nuclear medicine operates under strict regulations, requiring practitioners to meet IR(ME)R and ARSAC standards to oversee services. Consequently, specialists must fulfill rigorous training prerequisites to maintain high-quality care standards.

Applications are welcomed from International students with appropriate qualifications and experience Students for whom English is not a first language must demonstrate an acceptable standard of comprehension and communication in the English Language IELTS minimum overall score of 7.0 and 7.0 in the writing element Trainees entering the Nuclear Medicine Specialty Training Programme are expected to apply in line with the GMC approved curriculum Applicants may be interviewed depending on the strength of their applications They will be expected to be aware of the latest trends and developments in nuclear medicine Claims for the Recognition of Prior Learning RPL will be considered with a maximum of 50 of the total credits permitted
