Chemistry research breakthroughs have the power to enhance lives and tackle pressing worldwide challenges. Our Chemistry MRes program offers you the chance to collaborate with research teams focused on solving critical issues, from environmental crises to age-related diseases, demonstrating how science can positively impact society.

Our faculty consists of leading specialists in medicinal, environmental, materials, and analytical chemistry. You'll join one or more of our research teams, working closely with postdoctoral fellows and fellow graduate students who share your academic passions.

Guided by your supervisor, you'll develop and execute a significant research project that presents genuine intellectual rigor while highlighting the practical applications of scientific inquiry. You'll showcase your innovative thinking, master advanced techniques like chromatography, spectroscopy, and electroanalysis, and grow into an independent, confident researcher.

Through our journal club, you'll engage with cutting-edge scientific literature via guest lectures and peer-led discussions.

Degree and experience: A 2:1 degree in a relevant subject. Students with a degree that does not fall within this category but who have significant relevant experience, will also be considered. All applicants should provide a full description of any research projects undertaken, relevant work experience and non-academic qualifications. IELTS score of 6.5, with no part below 6.0.
