The MRes in Biological Sciences allows you to collaborate with research teams addressing worldwide challenges like infectious diseases and environmental health, while investigating subjects such as molecular and genetic biology alongside leading experts.
You'll integrate into one or more of our specialized research groups focusing on areas like biomedical devices, zoonotic diseases, and applied biosciences. You'll collaborate with postdoctoral researchers and fellow postgraduate students who share your academic passions.
Your specialized research project will investigate focused topics in biomaterials, biomedical devices, microbiology, biochemistry, ecotoxicology or genetics. Elective modules provide opportunities to expand your knowledge in areas aligned with your career goals and personal interests.
Gain hands-on experience using our advanced facilities, including microscopy suites with electron and confocal microscopes, atomic force microscopes, and specialized laboratories for ecology, microbiology, molecular biology and tissue culture.
