This program concentrates on contemporary history, spanning the 19th to 21st centuries, with special emphasis on historical transformation and conflict.

Challenging conventional historical perspectives, we incorporate insights from fields like political science and cultural studies in our examination of historical topics. You'll study not only historical events but also the methodology of history as an academic field, its creation, and its societal and political applications.

Throughout your Contemporary History studies, you'll investigate current worldwide concerns including the rise of superpowers and the varying manifestations of racism across different cultures. The curriculum also addresses historical marginalization, exploring how underrepresented groups can recover and narrate their own stories, while analyzing persistent structural issues that influence modern communities.
