This program targets licensed physicians with hands-on clinical experience, offering customized training to complement their doctoral research. Established collaborations between medical professionals and the University allow students to formulate research inquiries alongside their clinical supervisor and academic mentors before conducting relevant laboratory experiments or clinical studies. Through this process, they generate original, publishable findings presented in their thesis. With guidance from both University and clinical advisors, participants develop essential research competencies. Qualification Requirements
Candidates should be able to exhibit both professional qualifications and clinical practice.
A medical or dental qualification e.g. MBChB, MBBS, BDS, BChD.
Registration with the GMC or GDC of the UK.
A minimum of two years clinical practice following GMC or GDC registration, with an additional year in specialist practice.
IELTS at 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the sub tests (or the equivalent).
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
This is administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service) in the USA. You will need to achieve an overall score of at least 80*, and sub-tests not less than 18 in Reading, 17 in Writing, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking if you require a Student Visa.
