Our Chemical Engineering Foundation Year serves as an integrated preparatory program, providing a pathway to our top-ranked chemical engineering bachelor's degrees. If you lack the required qualifications for direct first-year admission, this program offers an excellent alternative. The School of Chemical Engineering pioneered the UK's first research facility focused on cryogenic liquid energy storage, featuring modern laboratories, cutting-edge equipment, and a significant demonstration facility - The Birmingham Centre for Cryogenic Energy Storage. During your third year, you'll complete a design project to develop a specific chemical process, supported by an industry collaborator.
