This program merges development studies with a multidisciplinary approach focused on Africa. It's perfect for individuals aiming for careers in international development or those preparing for PhD research on African development topics.

Africa stands as a key location for global development initiatives and has historically played a central role in shaping development studies as an academic field. The program leverages the specialized knowledge of the University's Department of African Studies and Anthropology (DASA) and International Development Department (IDD) to thoroughly examine the connection between development studies and Africa.

Students gain a sophisticated grasp of Africa's cultural, political, and historical contexts that have influenced the evolution of development studies and affected the outcomes of development projects across the continent.

This program presents an outstanding chance for students to not only acquire development thinking methodologies but also learn their practical application, while building a sophisticated awareness of Africa's intricate realities and its global Diasporas.
