This program equips environmentally conscious students for careers in the growing field of applied geoscience, covering specialties like engineering geology, resource geology, and environmental evaluation. Graduates will possess comprehensive geoscience expertise, positioning them well to tackle global and societal challenges in the decades ahead.
The curriculum maintains strong connections with existing Earth Sciences offerings, establishing fundamental knowledge of Earth's composition, history, and systems. It features specialized engineering and environmental modules, incorporates content from the School of Engineering, and offers placement opportunities with industry partners.
No prior geology background is required. Field studies are a core component of the program. Students can customize their degree path through elective modules that allow specialization in either engineering or environmental focuses. A significant portion of the program involves independent research projects.
