Develop practical expertise through a program where half of your education involves hands-on training, culminating in registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a qualified adult nurse. Our institution boasts one of the nation's top graduate employment rates. Eligible students can benefit from the NHS bursary, receiving a minimum of £5000 annually with additional financial support options.
Nursing requires the ability to evaluate patient needs, then design, execute, and assess care plans for individuals with diverse medical conditions. This demands strong interpersonal abilities, empathy, specialized knowledge, and clinical competencies—all of which you'll develop through this degree program.
Half of your training occurs in clinical settings, where you'll deliver care across various specialties including medical/surgical nursing, geriatric care, community health, and acute care. The remaining 50% involves university-based instruction through lectures, independent study, and simulated practice scenarios.
Key curriculum topics encompass lifespan care, diagnostic procedures and treatments, managing complex cases, population health, care coordination, and patient advocacy and safeguarding.
