This profession demands accountability for others' health outcomes and the empathy necessary to foster therapeutic nurse-patient relationships.
Essex offers a modern nursing curriculum distinct from conventional programs, featuring collaborative partnerships with healthcare providers for optimal practical training. Interprofessional education allows knowledge exchange with fellow healthcare students, while comprehensive support services - including literacy and numeracy assistance - guide your academic journey.

Clinical placements constitute 50% of your studies, occurring in varied environments like hospital wards, community health centers, and home care situations. These immersive experiences enable you to refine skills under practicing nurses' supervision.
Placement opportunities span NHS, private, and voluntary organizations across Essex, requiring shift work mirroring professional nursing schedules (approximately 37.5 weekly hours). This includes mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holiday rotations.
