Examine topics related to social justice and welfare to grasp the fundamental concerns and obstacles society encounters regarding rights, fairness, and resource allocation. This program will teach you about the societal and political foundations influencing policies that shape people's lives. You'll analyze how social policy affects identity, political structures, justice in society, and fundamental human rights.

You'll investigate the beginnings and development of government-operated systems and their connection with economic forces and nonprofit organizations both in the UK and globally. This will deepen your awareness of current welfare challenges at community, national, and global scales.

Your first year serves as your initiation into social science. You'll study societal transformations and how public concerns evolve into policy challenges. Additionally, you'll examine the primary social, political, and economic influences affecting equality and welfare systems in contemporary Britain.

During your second year, you'll concentrate on crucial policy domains including family structures, economic deprivation, societal disparities, and policy formation analysis. You'll acquire skills to assess evidence and craft persuasive arguments for various stakeholders. You'll also have the opportunity to select from diverse social science elective modules.
