Specialize in aerospace design, performance analysis, and systems. Gain the engineering expertise needed for a career in the aerospace sector. During your first two years, you'll concentrate on mastering fundamental mechanical engineering concepts and the responsibilities of a professional engineer. You'll learn how to integrate design with scientific, manufacturing, and management aspects of engineering to create, evaluate, and test products.
Later, you'll focus on specialized topics such as aerodynamics, stability and control, propulsion, structures, and performance. To gain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft from design to production, you'll collaborate with aerospace industry professionals and participate in a flight test course at a nearby airfield. At Bath, we emphasize developing transferable skills essential for engineers. You'll enhance your problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and professional conduct while examining the broader societal, ethical, and environmental implications of engineering work. Our program emphasizes hands-on learning through practical projects. In your final year, you'll undertake a full-time, semester-long individual project, which may involve simulations or laboratory experiments.
