The MRes Art: Moving Image program delves into the diverse histories, theories, and artistic approaches that have inspired creators to work with film and video. MRes Art offers three specialized tracks: Theory and Philosophy, Moving Image, and Exhibition Studies. This program employs research and writing to cultivate inquiry, imaginative thinking, and analytical assessment. Leveraging the extensive academic knowledge of faculty, guest speakers, and professionals, the curriculum examines how contemporary art research intersects with broader aesthetic, cultural, and socio-political concerns.
Students across all pathways have chances to unite for joint learning sessions. You'll also be motivated to initiate student-driven projects. Previous cohorts have partnered on academic symposiums, publications, and initiatives like the Tate Exchange program at Tate Modern.
