The BA Textile Design program offers three specialized tracks that investigate conventional, digital, and innovative textile design methods. Textiles surround us daily - in our clothing, home furnishings, workplace settings, and transportation interiors. Today's rapidly evolving industry, brimming with creativity and partnerships, makes textile design more thrilling than ever. Modern graduates must demonstrate exceptional resourcefulness, adapting to shifting technologies and media landscapes while meeting increasing demands for eco-conscious and ethical design solutions.
This degree program equips students to navigate this dynamic professional world. Through diverse projects, technical sessions, and faculty expertise, you'll gain exposure to various industry scenarios and required competencies. The curriculum also incorporates cultural studies, career preparation, business insights, and guest lectures from industry experts.
Students can choose among three concentrations: Print, Knit, or Weave. These specializations incorporate digital tools, unconventional methods, and sustainable design principles alongside traditional techniques. The program provides access to cutting-edge workshops exploring alternative surface treatments and emerging technologies. First-year students sample multiple pathways before selecting their focus in the second year with faculty guidance. This specialized approach fosters both expertise and adaptability in future designers.
Program duration: 3 years full-time or 4 years with a Diploma in Professional Studies
