Focusing on economic evaluation of both commercial and residential property markets through qualitative and econometric approaches. The real estate team operates within the Business School and manages the Centre for Real Estate Research (CRER). Group members have secured funding from organizations like the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the European Union, as well as various commercial and professional partners including RICS and IPF. The team maintains strong industry connections and produces publications such as the Aberdeen Housing Market Report on a quarterly basis.
Additionally, the real estate group collaborates on research projects and supervision with other departments within and beyond the Business School. This includes joint work on investment fund performance and university capital investments (with the finance department), as well as studies on GP practice operations and location decisions (with health economics researchers from the Medical School).
