The MSc in Subsea Engineering stands out as one of the UK's premier programs in its field. This course equips engineers with specialized training, emphasizing core competencies and technical expertise currently sought after in the subsea sector.

The curriculum concentrates on essential skills and engineering principles to ready graduates for leadership positions in subsea operations.

Specifically, students develop deeper technical expertise in subsea technology development and operations—covering everything from wellheads to topside connections—while honing their ability to apply engineering fundamentals to system design and installation.

Participants will master industry-standard analysis tools, specialized software, and design standards to optimize system performance. The program also strengthens transferable skills like independent research, effective communication, technical writing, project coordination, and analytical problem-solving.

Aberdeen serves as Europe's hub for subsea operations, hosting 40% of global subsea infrastructure in the North Sea. Over forty years, the city has cultivated a concentration of industry leaders including TechnipFMC, Aker Solutions, GE Oil & Gas, Subsea 7, and Bibby Offshore, supported by an extensive network of specialized service providers.
