The MLitt in Creative Writing is an instructional program crafted to provide a nurturing and productive setting for honing your writing skills and unleashing your creative abilities. You'll explore the techniques and obstacles encountered when crafting publishable creative pieces across various genres, including poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
This MLitt Creative Writing program offers a structured educational experience to cultivate your writing and broader creative talents. You'll learn about the journey and hurdles of bringing creative works to publication, spanning poetry, prose, screenplays, and film scripts. Your instructors include accomplished authors like poets and novelists David Wheatley, Alan Warner, Helen Lynch, and Wayne Price, along with documentary filmmaker Alan Marcus.
You can pursue this qualification as either a one-year full-time or two-year part-time Master's program, or use it as a stepping stone toward an MPhil or PhD (subject to acceptance into advanced degree programs at Aberdeen or other institutions). This program is ideal if you aim to enhance your expertise and practical abilities in creative writing or wish to establish a strong base for developing a PhD research proposal in this field.
