Genetics examines inherited traits and variations among individuals, while Immunology focuses on the body's defense mechanisms against diverse pathogens. Genetics provides insights into fundamental biological processes like development, growth, and aging by revealing the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved. This encompasses the immune system's formation and operation, which safeguards us from harmful microorganisms. It also clarifies disease mechanisms, including immunological disorders such as autoimmune conditions like multiple sclerosis.
This degree program integrates Genetics and Immunology to provide comprehensive knowledge spanning molecular, cellular, and organismal perspectives. Students will develop specialized expertise in key areas of both fields, aligned with the School's research strengths, while learning about their practical applications.
