In the 2021 UK Research Excellence Framework (REF), Ulster University Business School achieved recognition for 90% of its research as either World Leading or Internationally Excellent. This ranking positioned the Business School among the top twenty UK institutions for research outputs and Top 10 (Joint 1st) for Research Impact.
Our PhD candidates' satisfaction is further demonstrated by the 2018 Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) results, where they reported exceptionally high satisfaction rates (87% overall). These findings confirm that our resources, processes, and methodologies meet their rigorous expectations. Research activities are structured around three primary areas: Operations Management and Contemporary Organisational Issues, Accounting and Finance, and Marketing. The Faculty also hosts two specialized research centers: the Food and Drink Business Development Centre (FDBDC) and the Economic Policy Centre (EPC).
