Ulster University's BSc Hons Energy program delves into renewable energy technologies, applying scientific and technological principles to develop creative solutions for global energy challenges.

Throughout the course, you'll examine various topics, acquiring comprehensive expertise in both traditional and renewable energy systems. These include wind power, bioenergy, solar energy, tidal and wave technologies, heat pumps, smart grids, fuel cells, and energy storage solutions. As an energy specialist, you'll learn to design, evaluate, and optimize these systems, assessing their economic and environmental advantages across diverse global contexts. The program also cultivates critical thinking skills to analyze emerging theories and adapt approaches to address evolving energy needs.

Irish Leaving Certificate
112 UCAS Tariff Points to include to include a minimum of five subjects (four of which must be at higher level) to include English at H6 if studied at Higher Level or O4 if studied at Ordinary Level.

International Baccalaureate
Overall profile of 25 points (12 at higher level) to include one HL subject from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Design and Technology or Environmental Technology. If Mathematics is not being offered at HL then it is required at Grade 4 in the overall profile. Grade 4 in English Language also required in overall profile.

Access to Higher Education (HE)
Access Course (120 credit Access Course) (NI Access Course) in a Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering subject area with an overall mark of 63% to include 63% in each of the level 3 modules and to include 63% in NICATS level 2 Maths for Year 1 entry.

Access Course (60 credit Access Course) (GB Access Course) Overall profile of 15 credits at Distinction/ 30 credits at Merit in a Social and Biological Sciences subject area

GCSE
For full-time study, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements for admission to a first degree course and hold a GCSE pass at Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics.

Please note that for purposes of entry to this course the Level 2 Certificate in Essential Skills - Application of Number is NOT regarded as an acceptable alternative to GCSE Maths.

Level 2 Certificate in Essential Skills - Communication will be accepted as equivalent to GCSE English.

IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5., TOEFL iBT - 80 with a minimum L - 17 R - 18 S - 20 W - 17, PTE Academic - 55 (with min. of 51 in each part)
