Ulster University's School of Arts and Humanities offers an undergraduate music degree structured around four key components: Performance, Composition, Musicology, and Music Technology. The program operates across two 12-week semesters annually, with students selecting 60 credits worth of modules each term. The first year provides a broad foundation in musical styles, genres, and disciplines, helping students enhance their current abilities while gaining new ones. Important: All first-year modules are mandatory for BMus candidates. In the second year, students can start specializing through elective modules alongside intermediate courses in the core disciplines. The third year allows for deeper focus in specific areas of interest through advanced modules. Students may also participate in internships with regional music or arts organizations, or undertake independent research projects in their chosen musical field.
