Ulster University's Coleraine campus features Journalism as part of its interdisciplinary program. This unique Northern Ireland degree allows students to explore journalism's theoretical and practical aspects alongside key influences like legal frameworks, economic conditions, political systems, and technological advancements. The curriculum equips students with essential professional competencies.

As a major program (comprising four modules annually for full-time students), Journalism pairs with an Arts minor (two modules per year) to form a complete degree. Available minors include Education, English, and History.

Many aspiring educators opt to include Education modules in their undergraduate studies before pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Typically, each Education module consists of weekly two-hour lectures complemented by one-hour seminars.
