The MA Visual Communication program emphasizes conveying data of all scales through visual mediums like graphic design, visual storytelling, and infographics. This specialized curriculum mirrors the evolving landscape of creative professions, encouraging students to develop innovative solutions for real-world design challenges and emerge as pioneers in visual communication. You'll acquire essential transferable skills to seize career prospects or pursue advanced research, while examining branding, graphic design, illustration, marketing, UX, emerging media, and technological advancements to visually articulate critical information. The course delves into scenario planning, foresight methodologies, and future-proofing strategies to shape your creative trajectory and anticipate developments across design, communication, and cultural sectors. This program equips creative professionals with the tools to develop innovative business concepts, products, systems, and artifacts, while fostering an intellectually stimulating environment for investigating forward-thinking creative practices through both individual and collaborative projects. Students gain from faculty expertise in interactive technologies and social design. The one-year format offers a classic MSc/MA pathway, while the two-year advanced practice option enhances your credentials through either vocational or research-focused internships. While research internships are guaranteed, vocational placements require independent sourcing, though comprehensive support is provided for securing these career-boosting opportunities that strengthen your professional profile.
