Pursuing a PhD or MPhil in Media and Communication at Swansea allows you to embark on an extensive research project driven by your personal interests and aspirations. This prestigious degree can open doors to academic careers or expand your job prospects in various sectors including media, education, government, and private industries.
Throughout your research journey, you'll receive dedicated guidance from two expert supervisors who will meet with you biweekly during your initial term, then at mutually agreed intervals thereafter.
The program helps you refine essential research capabilities for advanced work in media studies, complemented by on-campus skills development workshops. You'll gain experience presenting your work to peers and faculty at departmental events and the School of Culture and Communication's postgraduate conference.
From your second year onward, you may have opportunities to lead undergraduate tutorials and seminars, complete with training and compensation. Approved conference attendance and external research activities may also qualify for financial assistance.
