The MSc by Research in Experimental Physics offers a year-long personalized research program designed to foster both personal and professional growth. Your experimental physics project will evolve through engagement in seminars, workshops, laboratory work, field studies, and collaboration with one of our active research teams.
Our department hosts three primary research groups.
The Atomic, Molecular and Quantum Physics Group (AMQP) receives funding from EPSRC, the EU, The Royal Society, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, along with various industrial and governmental partners.

Applicants for MSc by Research must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University). IELTS 6.5 Overall (with no individual component below 6.0) or Swansea University recognised equivalent.
