Growing demands are putting strain on our finite water supplies. As the need for clean water rises among expanding populations, innovative approaches must focus on maximizing water reuse efficiency. The Centre for Water Advanced Technologies and Environmental Research (CWATER) stands as a globally recognized hub for pioneering water treatment technologies. CWATER's research primarily falls into three key areas: Drinking water purification: enhancing methods to produce safe drinking water while complying with stricter regulations at lower costs, Wastewater processing: developing technologies to effectively remove pollutants and minimize environmental impact from discharges, and Industrial water treatment: techniques for treating manufacturing streams to enable water recycling and recovery of valuable chemicals. The MSc by Research in Desalination and Water Re-use offers diverse study topics such as: Membrane process modeling, Membrane and system analysis, Toxic contaminants, Ozone treatment and Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), and Large-scale pilot testing.
