Our MRes program in Bioscience provides specialized research training within our renowned research teams. The initial term focuses on advanced postgraduate-level skills development, including assistance with selecting and refining research projects. In late January, students begin their 9-month research phase.
The structured coursework during the first semester helps students enhance their writing abilities, analytical methods, and critical thinking to meet postgraduate standards. Participants also choose two supplementary modules aligned with their research focus (such as GIS, biodiversity and health ecology, endangered species, or biodiversity evaluation). Following module evaluations, students undertake an independent research project under departmental supervision. We anticipate students will complete a thesis worthy of publication, with many MRes projects achieving publication after degree conferral.
