Theoretical Physics seeks to unravel the fundamental nature of reality through mathematical frameworks that decode the cosmos. Spanning quantum mechanics, particle physics unification, dark matter studies, and cosmic evolution, this discipline opens boundless possibilities. Our four-year MPhys Theoretical Physics program prepares aspiring physicists for professional careers.
You'll tackle profound inquiries like the universe's origins, the fabric of spacetime, and recreating post-Big Bang conditions experimentally. Through an intensive year-long MPhys research project, you'll develop expertise at the forefront of these fields, guided by world-renowned theoretical physicists.
The program's flexible structure allows for international study exchanges or industrial placements, available locally or globally.
Course offerings encompass diverse topics such as astrophysics, nuclear phenomena, quantum theory, and atmospheric physics.
Our collaborations with CERN and the ALPHA antimatter initiative keep curriculum content at the research frontier. Selected students may complete their Master's thesis at CERN in Geneva.
Alumni have pursued careers as demand analysts, electromagnetic specialists, technical estimators, patent reviewers, and systems developers across government research, aerospace, defense, energy, engineering, and space technology sectors.
