Our two-year integrated Master's in Physician Associate Studies (MPAS) is a rigorous full-time program designed to train you as a skilled medical professional for the NHS. The first year focuses on campus learning, featuring clinical instruction organized by body systems and hands-on training led by expert practitioners. You'll gain early clinical experience in primary care settings, progressing to secondary care later in the year. The second year primarily involves clinical placements throughout Wales, with periodic returns to campus to reinforce your knowledge. During placements, you'll treat actual patients while being guided by qualified clinical supervisors.
Physician Associate positions are increasingly sought-after, with numerous job openings regularly available across the UK. As this HEIW-commissioned program requires, all MPAS students at Swansea must agree to work in Wales for 18 months after completing their studies. Failure to secure or maintain this employment may result in proportional tuition reimbursement obligations.
