Our MSc Physician Associate program follows the Physician Associate Curriculum Framework, equipping you to excel in the National Examination and thrive in healthcare settings.

Expert faculty will train you in comprehensive patient care, including conducting physical exams, taking medical histories, and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The curriculum integrates fundamental scientific principles, applying anatomical and pathophysiological knowledge to real-world healthcare scenarios. Developed collaboratively with healthcare trusts and placement providers, this program delivers essential skills for clinical practice and future employment. Alongside core studies, we support your exploration of specialized interests to advance your professional aspirations.

The program requires completion of at least 1,600 clinical practice hours (including up to 200 simulation hours) to meet competency standards. Placements span diverse specialties: General Practice, Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Surgery, plus elective opportunities in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Neurology, and other fields.

Qualification Requirements

  • Applicants should hold an Upper Second (2.1) class degree in a life science (e.g. biomedical science, biology, physiology) or a healthcare profession (e.g., nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy), or an equivalent overseas qualification.¬†
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade B (6) or above, or equivalent.¬†
  • For non-native English speakers, proficiency in the English language must be demonstrated by achieving an IELTS score of 7.5, with a minimum of 7.5 in writing and 7.0 in the other three components, regardless of where the first degree was earned.¬†
  • Evidence of paid or voluntary work experience with people, preferably in a health or social care context.¬†
  • Appropriate personal qualities, motivation, communication skills, and understanding of the Physician Associate (PA) role demonstrated throughout the selection process.¬†
  • Successful completion of the interview and selection process.¬†
