If you're passionate about Biochemistry and its connections to disease research, pharmaceutical advancements, and environmental interactions, but lack the entry requirements for our BSc program or are returning to education as a mature student, our BSc with Foundation Year is ideal for you. This four-year program begins with a foundation year that covers essential concepts to prepare you for the Medical Biochemistry BSc. After achieving at least a 60% average in the Foundation Year, you'll advance to Year 1 of the BSc. Our Medical Biochemistry program provides a thorough exploration of biochemical processes across all living organisms, from microbes to humans. You'll gain strong project management abilities and learn to design experiments and organize research initiatives.

IB: 24 to include Higher Level grade 4 Chemistry
BTEC: Typically DMM including a good Chemistry profile
As well as one of the above qualification types all applicants are required:
GCSE: English and Maths minimum Grade C Wales (England Pre-2017) or Grade 4 (England Post-2017)*
We accept Swansea University approved equivalent qualifications.
Students wishing to take the Pathway to Medicine option the GCSE requirement is mandatory
For applicants whose first language is not English we require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) and no less than 5.5 in each component. TOEFL (IBT) - 79
