Our PGCE History program merges insights into history's societal role and its place in school curricula with comprehensive teaching methodologies. This course equips you with essential skills to deliver engaging history lessons while examining contemporary discussions and research in history education to enhance your practical teaching experience. Connections are drawn between history and literacy, citizenship, and media studies.
The program extensively utilizes local historical resources and South West London's rich heritage, including Strawberry Hill House located on our campus. Assessment focuses on teaching students aged 11-16, with optional opportunities for A Level instruction incorporated when suitable.

Qualification Requirements
History PGCE applicants are expected to have a good degree in history (2:2 or above) or a related subject such as politics.
GCSEs in English Language and Mathematics at level 4 (grade C if taken before 2017) or above (or equivalent). GCSE English (or equivalent) must be in place at application`. GCSE equivalents are offered by St Mary's University.
IELTS score of 7 overall with no less than 6.5.
TOEFL iBT - 88 overall with 20 in reading, 19 in listening, 21 in speaking and 20 in writing
